FLOWER ESCAPE

Autodesk Maya

In the fall of 2012 - during my master study at the IT-University - I participated in a course on 3D animation with Autodesk Maya. The course was to teach us the basic flow and functionality of the program as used in animation film making and computer game development.

My character in this very short film is based on the physical plastic flower displayed in the gammery below. I tried to reproduce it as accurately as possible, focusing more on the technique of Autodesk Maya, than of acturally producing an exciting story. This led to on of the greatest learning of this course: There isn't much value in a great character, if there isn't a story to make you cheer for him.

You can read my very short written assignment on the film here: FLOWER ESCAPE.PDF
